Manchester Organisations to Follow & Support Right Now

In and around Manchester there are ongoing projects that work tirelessly to support BAME communities and amplify their voices via different mediums. From magazines to charities, social media pages to educational trusts, we urge you to take a look at the work that these groups are doing, follow them and support them if you can.

Below is a list of some of these organisations which we will continue to update. If you think we have missed any and would like them to be added please let us know by emailing

Rainbow Noir - Rainbow Noir is a volunteer lead social, peer support and community action group, which celebrates and platforms people of colour who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans*, Queer and/or Intersex (LGBTQI+).

Kids Of Colour - A platform for young people of colour to explore race, identity and culture and challenge the everyday, institutionalised racism that shapes their lives.

Northern Police Monitoring Project - An independent campaigning and advocacy organisation to educate, empower and organise the people of Manchester and the surrounding area in the face of increasing police harassment, violence and racism.

Fuse Manchester - An inclusive platform elevating the voices and work from creatives of colour.

FRESH Magazine - A magazine shining a spotlight on the work of Black and Asian designers and creatives. Aiming to create an inclusive and diverse creative community.

WCAPS-UK - Empowering women of colour (WOC) and minorities in the field, to provide an equitable platform and network, and promoting inclusive and innovative approaches to the policy decision making process.

Greater Manchester BAME Network - Working with and through the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector for the benefit of the people and communities of Greater Manchester.

Louise Da-Cocodia education trust - Assisting and offering financial support to African Caribbean heritage students enrolled on further and higher education courses in areas of accountancy, science, engineering and information technology.

Hideaway Youth - A place where young people can express themselves, pursue their ideas and ambitions, and relax in a safe environment.
